Giving to the Horticulture Center
Your support is essential to the Horticulture Center's growth and development. With your help, the Horticulture Center can expand to provide the following services:
- A LEED certified central building that would identify Illinois State University's Department of Agriculture as a leader in sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality
- A Conference Room for university and community meetings
- 10,000 square feet of greenhouse space
- An outdoor amphitheatre, which would serve as a facility for outdoor classrooms, meetings, community events and rentals
- Theme Gardens, which may include a Children's Garden, prairie, All-American Selections, Crops of the World Plot and more
- Horticulture Field Research Plots to further research pertinent to the nursery industry of Illinois and the Midwest
- Nurseries Demonstration Plots to allow local nurseries and growers to promote Grown in Illinois ornamental and horticulture plants and products
Individuals, groups or corporations can sponsor the following areas:
- The Building: Contribute to offices, classrooms, and laboratories.
- A Conference Center: for university and community meetings.
- The Greenhouses: Promote learning and horticultural research at Illinois State by contributing to the development and maintenance of greenhouses and outdoor classrooms.
- Gardens: Sponsor the creation of new gardens.
- The Children's Garden: Give children and their families the opportunity to have fun while learning about nature by contributing to the Children's Garden.
- A Storage Building: to store equipment required to maintain the Horticulture Center.
